KO in Round Two

The Philippines OTHER national hero, Manny "the Pacman" Pacquiao knocked out Britain's Ricky Hatton in the second round of Sunday's welterweight title fight in Las Vegas Nevada.  

I tried to see the fight at a screen set up at the local mall.  Hundreds of people were already there, packed into a cordoned area like sardines. I didn't actually stick around to see the fight, but a cab driver,  who might have been a bit tipsy, re-lived the whole thing with us. 

Fifty Philippine government officials were in Las Vegas for the fight, postponing legislative action.  

Most Filipinos I've spoken to fully expect that their leaders travelled to the fight on taxpayer money.
