SPACEWORLD! DUDES!India's space program has traction and either to boost that momentum, or else to make some money off it, Lavasa Corporation in collaboration with Dubai-based Space Investment Company (SIC) are building Asia's first space theme park in Pune!
AWESOME!
They are expecting to open in 2010.
A colleague of mine is p.o.ed that India is pursuing a space program when "so many people are so poor." We hear the same argument in the US.
But I feel differently. Of course government should invest money in protecting and advancing the well being of the poor. But if that's all they do, if that's all anyone does, then their work is sad and unending.
There will always be poor people. And there will always be people trying to help them. Can't we also look up sometimes? Into the sky? Sense the magnificence of something bigger than us? And hope a little?
Shoot for the moon, right, India?
